SEA SHELL CREATURES / SEA CREATURES
We are continuing with our nature themed art this week but this week it's time to head to the beach! Summer holidays are almost here and the beaches are open again.
If you get a chance to visit a beach, bring a bucket and collect some shells. There are lots of projects below to get creative with.
In the meantime, here are some drawing tutorials for all sorts of sea creatures.
Each picture links to a YouTube video, just click the one you want to see ⇓
SHELLS
Remember: you don't need all the bits and pieces that you see in a picture to make your own version. Use paper, play-doh, paint, card, glue, markers, pencils, even old nail polish (with permission!).

Patterned Shells
You could use acrylic paint or even some old nail polish to paint your shells. Just make sure you have permission and you cover the area with old newspaper/cloth.
Sea Shell Sea Creatures
Sea Shell Birds
Sea Shell Jelly Fish (with glitter!)
Sea Shell Collage
Draw or print the shape of what you want to collage, for example, an octopus. Find just the right shells to fill in every curve and corner of your shape just right (that could take a while!). When you're finished, you'll see the beautiful shape of your drawing.
Sea Shell Mandala
If you've collected lots of similar shells and want to have a go at some abstract art, why not create a mandala or pattern?
Sea Shell Wind Chime
String your shells up and listen to them clink against each other in the wind.

PEBBLE PEOPLE
Have fun creating some art with stones this week.
You will need:
- smooth stones
- pencil
- paint (acrylic works best, I usually get some in Mr. Price, but be careful, acrylic paint does not wash out!)
- a paintbrush
- permanent marker for outline
- varnish (only if you want)
Of course, you don't have to just create Pebble People. You could create all kinds of stones:
