The following is a link to an excellent site:

You should start around level 4 (age 6-7) and move up to level 5. Remember homework reading should be easy and enjoyable.
Before,during and after reading
Please write down the books you read into the little Reading Record Book I sent you. Make a note of new words you don’t understand. Do a picture walk of the book before you read it. That is where you look at the pictures but don't read any of the words and get a sense of what the book is about. You can also make predictions about the book before you read it. The book might remind you of another book you have read or heard and so you can make a connection between the book/story you are reading now and the other story. Maybe they have similar characters , maybe they have a similar setting (ie where it takes place).
There are also excellent audio books available.
