I hope you all had a nice week. Well done on another week of school from home, you are all doing a fantastic job. It was lovely to see some of you on Friday for the book collection
It is a difficult time for everyone so please do not feel under pressure to do all of this work, it is a guideline. Choose your child’s favourite parts and have fun with it

- Try making your own puzzles from old cardboard boxes

Today’s revision is the sound ‘qu’, here are some activities:
- Think of words with the sound 'qu’-queen, quack, quick
- Look around your house and see if you can spot something which contains the ‘qu’ sound.
- Using the link watch a short video on the qu sound
- Draw some pictures of objects that have the ‘qu’ sound.
- Say each letter sound and then push all the sounds together:queen, quick
Tricky word:
- Our tricky word this week is 'they'
- Think of some sentences using the word ‘they’ for example: They are lovely flowers!

Commotion in the Ocean
Reading Activity:
- Children can draw a picture of their favourite part from the story.
- Mute the story and read it yourself with your child. Reading the story again and again
helps children to read more of the story themselves and builds their confidence in books and reading.
- Pause the read along story and play ‘I spy’ - What can you see?

- Try to sequence the story of “Commotion in the Ocean”
- Can you draw a picture for what happened during the beginning/ middle and end of the story?

- Look at the sets in the pictures on p 98 of Cracking Maths. Which items are the same? Different? Draw a line to partition (separate) the sets of items. Count the items on each set.
