Hi girls and boys ,
I hope you all had a lovely week and enjoyed the gorgeous weather we are having at the moment . Make sure you get out and enjoy the fresh air and don't forget your sunscreen!
I can't believe it is June already so we will only have a few more weeks of work. Please find your work for the week below but remember it is just a guide and you don't need to do it all. Get in touch through Class Dojo or my email if you have any work you want to send me or if you just want to say hello, I'd love to hear from you and hear about what you've been up to!
For those parents who contacted me about collecting their books, I have collected them from the school so I will contact you this week about dropping them off.
Take care everyone, I hope you enjoy the week ahead, keep up the great work, the summer holidays are only around the corner!

Dictation and Handwriting
*It is important to spend a few minutes each day writing so that you don't forget how to form your letters! This week I am going to give you some sentences for dictation but be sure to be practising your handwriting when you are writing them down.
*Ask someone to call these sentences out, use your phonics and Dolch words knowledge to help you spell the words.
- Tom and Pat went to visit their friend.
- I ran across the school yard.
- My sister is taller than me.
- She lives down the street.
- He played with the green ball.
- The man and the girl walked to the bus stop.
- It is so sunny outside today.
You can look on YouTube for videos to help you with forming your letters correctly.
Reading
*Please make sure that you are reading every day. It is one of the most important things that you do while you are off school.
*Here are 3 more stories you can enjoy this week - sit back, relax and enjoy listening to them!
*Please read some of the books online too in the links below or any books you have at home.
*Make sure someone in your family listens to you reading out loud. Here are some questions that they can ask you before, during and after you have read the book (just pick a few questions, not them all).

Maths
*This week we will focus on time.
*Language: clock, watch, telling the time, what time is it?, big hand, small hand, minutes, hours, o'clock, half past, quarter past, AM, PM, days of the week, months of the year, seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter)
*Ask children to tell you the time when the clock is showing "o'clock" or "half past".
*Talk about your day and different times in the day - what do you do in the morning, afternoon, evening and night? What time do you do different things during the day? Sequence your day. Example: At half past seven I get up and I eat my breakfast at eight o'clock.....
*Look at a clock and a watch, look at how the hands move around and how the bigger hand moves more often than the small hand. The big hand shows us the minutes and the small hand shows the hours.
*Sequence the days of the week, months of the year and the seasons. Which one comes before/after?
*You can use your Cracking Maths book and complete the pages on "Time".

SESE
*This week you can complete your Covid 19 time capsule! You are living through History so it is a nice activity to record some details from this time that you can look back on in years to come.
*You could also get a nice box (or make one by decorating a shoe box.......see the art activity below!) and put some items into it that remind you of this time. You could add things like the hand-prints of everyone in your home, some photographs, your thoughts on this time, newspaper cuttings, things you are looking forward to doing when it is all over, an item that reminds you of this time....

Art
*Doing some art is a nice way to spend some quiet time and a good way to relax.
*The activity this week is to make a special time capsule box to keep a few special things from this time when you were off school. You can use a shoe box or any box you have at home. You can paint t or cover it in paper and draw on it or use a special wrapping paper that you love! Add some decorations like stickers, sparkles, glitter or pictures cut out from magazines.
*Don't forget to send me a picture of it!
